“I have found Virgil to
be fun to work with; his expectations and demands are reasonable, and he (from my experience) exhibits a sense of urgency on behalf of his clients. I always felt Virgil communicated the project plan so I had the info I would need to do my part.”

our name our executive team giving back our partners speaking out news

A few years ago, we were brainstorming on a new name for our business.  There is an old Jamaican story that goes, “The higher up the tree the monkey goes, the more his rear end shows.”  The original version uses slightly more colorful language.  After we stopped laughing, we thought that the name High Monkey would be an interesting business name.  We were a little concerned that people wouldn’t take us seriously.  Then we thought, life is too short to go through it with a boring name.  After a couple of weeks of mental ping-pong with the name, we tried it out with a few friends and clients.  The feedback – it’s definitely a name people will remember.  It also got people to ask “Why High Monkey?” and “Where did your name come from?”

A higher view?  As we thought more about the monkey in the tree, we came up with all kinds of slogans about having a higher view of the asphalt jungle, seeing the forest and the trees, taking a risk at the top . . .  you get the idea.  So, we’re not a marketing PR firm.  We decided we didn’t need a catchy tagline – our name does that just fine.  We really do take a higher view of business and technology.  It helps us keep the challenges our clients face in perspective.

It should be pretty obvious that we have a sense of humor.  If you are not a “humor person”, you probably stopped reading after the first paragraph.  That’s okay.  We like our clients to be serious about results while still enjoying the process of working with us.  Call it humor or call it our perspective on how business should be.  Whether it’s our name or the services we provide, go ahead and ask!
