Paddock Laboratories, Inc:

HMC worked with Paddock Labs to implement a class and student management solution using the Microsoft SharePoint platform. The solution leveraged out-of-the-box SharePoint calendar functionality. HMC built forms, workflow, and business rules that allowed students (Paddock employees) to view and self-register for company sponsored classes. The solution also provided administrative access for instructors to enroll students or modify the student list for their classes.
Another challenge for the Paddock team related to their business development portal. The BD portal was developed by an external vendor in Windows SharePoint Services version 2. Using many of the standard practices around that version, a system was built with maximum use of SharePoint sites in mind. For each new product that could be brought into development, a system was put in place to automatically set-up up to 25 SharePoint sites to handle different pieces of information. Over 2 years of constant use, the system has grown to over 200,000 sites and has become completely unmanageable. HMC has been meeting with the Paddock team to determine the best course of action to convert this system to version 3 and re-architect it for a better user experience and consolidation of important information for easier access and “findability”.
Most recently HMC has been working with the Paddock staff to evaluate the current health of the SharePoint implementation and recommend changes to their infrastructure and site structure to better optimize the user experience. HMC is often called upon by its clients to help administer and maintain their SharePoint implementations.
