High Monkey Consulting worked with a division of Wells Fargo HCFG to implement a pilot program for Microsoft’s SharePoint collaboration platform. The pilot included establishing a calendar management process, managing multiple projects, and providing an online community for several workgroups. The introduction of collaboration technologies also created the need for education and familiarization with the features and benefits provided by a collaboration platform.
HMC was engaged to analyze current work practices within a pilot group of 10 employees. The first step was to identify which routine processes and work flows could be incorporated into the collaboration platform. A project plan was created that identified the timing for each process to be converted to the platform. Project management was added first, followed by document collaboration and categorization, and finally shared calendaring. Several “lunch and learn” sessions and other training significantly aided in the smooth adoption of each process. The success of the pilot group quickly expanded the project’s scope to include the full workgroup of 60 employees. The collaboration solution provided by HMC is now used routinely by a growing population of Wells Fargo employees.
