Mr. Carroll has owned High Monkey Consulting for the past 8 years. A company that focuses on biz-tech project planning, management and delivery, HMC specializes in assisting clients in implementing cost-effective technology solutions.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and a level of enthusiasm that would infect any audience, Mr. Carroll will use his sense of humor and storytelling ability to engage students while providing them with practical advice on the changing world of technology and how to best leverage it.

Born the son of a fisherman in the small fishing village of Cordova in the very big state of Alaska, his hometown was pushed into the international spotlight in 1989 when the oil tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground, causing the greatest ecological disaster ever. From this tragic event to college at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Virgil received his license in Sports Medicine in 1993. Virgil moved around for the next three years living in five states, including Alabama, where he received his Master's Degree in Education with an Instructional Design emphasis. He finally settled in Minnesota in 1996, residing in Coon Rapids.
