Anoka-Ramsey Community College:

HMC worked closely with Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC) over an 11 month period to design and re-architect a completely new web site. This work included the following:

• Extensive usability testing and card sort activities to gather objective data to create the new website’s information architecture and naviagational elements that emphasized “ease-of-use” and information “findability”.
• Original concepting and creative design for the website to give it a fresh new look and distinctive branding presence.
• Created templates for the new public facing website, plus branded templates for separate employee and current student “landing” pages. HMC also created separate templates for use by faculty members for their individualized course communication needs.
• Research and evaluation of content management systems (CMS) and the implementation of the college’s CMS choice into the website’s page layout and overall information architecture.
• Creation of a SharePoint based tracking system to manage the migration of 800+ web pages from the previous website into the new site.
• Working extensively with a team that included a broad cross section of ARCC’s staff and faculty members.
• Guiding the development and production process for the website despite the departure of ARCC’s CIO and Webmaster early in the project. These two individuals were not replaced at the college due to budget constraints.
