Dooley's Petroleum:

High Monkey was engaged by Dooley’s Petroleum to conduct an analysis of their current use of information, the information needs of their customers and dealers, and to identify the best use of technologies to help them leverage the capabilities of the web. HMC delivered a technology roadmap for Dooleys that outlined approaches for the following areas.

  • Website Strategy
  • Dealer Portal Strategy
  • Long-Term Strategy

High Monkey recommended the creation of a public website that would provide information to current customers, attract new customers, and establish a reputation for Dooleys Petroleum as a tech-savvy organization. A new website would also reinforce the Dooleys Petroleum brand beyond the recognition of tanker trucks and delivery vehicles in the Minnesota communities served by Dooleys.

HMC also recommended the development of a dealer portal as a means to provide pricing updates, market information, invoice history, and secure access to other dealer specific information. HMC reviewed several technology strategies and approaches and recommended that development for both the public website and the dealer portal be done using DotNetNuke (DNN). As an open-source development platform, DNN allowed Dooleys to keep their investment in software licences low while also having access to an extensive collection of professionally developed functional modules; including content management, news feeds, SQL reporting, forms, membership management, and many more.

The Dooleys Petroleum public website and dealer portal are in concurrent development and will be released in early 2010.
