MoveIT is a two day course that explores the best practices necessary to move business processes into practical, user-friendly SharePoint applications – all without doing any coding – and then launch them as a complete SharePoint solution.
Getting into the flow
When you build a building, you don’t start with the nails, you start with the plan. We start with the best practices behind moving business processes into SharePoint, including the planning and preparation that needs to occur before we start to hammer it into place. We help you understand the principles behind how workflow management works in SharePoint and some of the pitfalls you want to avoid in your installation.
Remember that users are people too
Planning a process is only the first step. Making sure people can use it is the next critical piece. Learn about building interfaces through SharePoint Designer that can meet the needs of your process while not leaving the users in the land of ‘I don’t understand’.
Molding your form
When building forms and views in SharePoint designers, users often overlook many of the advanced, easy-to-use features that can improve the flow of our processes. In this section we review the advanced functionality of SharePoint Designer, making our forms and views more interactive and molding them into a cohesive package
Flowing down the river divine
Where workflows can be one of the most powerful features in SharePoint, it can also be one of the most frustrating to create and control. This section focuses on creating solid workflows in SharePoint Designer and techniques to test and verify the finished product.
I want to do more
One of the best things about the SharePoint community is there are always other people willing to do a lot of work. In this section we review some of the third party, open source solutions that can help us build more powerful workflow-based applications by extending the power of SharePoint Designer.
