Focus Group Sessions
High Monkey conducts focus group sessions for some of our clients in order to brainstorm ideas and to get feedback about new website or software designs or to review and discuss changes to features or functionality. Focus group sessions share some common elements with the process of individual user testing including:
Planning
We work with our clients to plan the objectives for each focus group session. The success of a group session is a direct result of good planning.
Group Participant Selection
Websites and software often target a variety of audiences or users. Some focus groups will include participants from a single audience demographic; some group sessions will combine audiences to create an environment that could result in more discussion.
Creating the Session Environment
The quality of the information gathered in a focus group requires clear scripting of questions and a defined process to ensure that all participants are able to contribute in an environment that promotes creativity and open communication.
Analysis and Results Reporting
The report we deliver to our clients includes both raw notes and data gathered from the group session(s) as well as recommendations for moving forward. Recommendations typically include improvements to the organization of information, refinements to profiles of target audiences, features and functionality desires expressed by group participants, and creative design and branding ideas.
