Inconsistent Look and Feel

When designing your SharePoint site it is important to provide a consistent experience for users throughout. While every page should not be exactly the same, the page layout, location of components and navigation and the general look & feel should be relatively consistent so users have a familiar experience no matter where they must go on the site. This can help users learn the site faster and feel more confident because of it. A lack of consistency within a site (or even across multiple SharePoint sites) means users must learn a new system with each area that changes, often leading to confusion and frustration.
