MindSurf and SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities

What usually requires plane rides and a hotel stay didn't require either of these for me this last week! There were two great events that I spoke at just in my backyard, MindSurf 2010 and SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities. Both events had great turnouts! From what I heard MindSurf had a sellout crowd for its second year in a row, and SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities had over 150 people show up.

MindSurf 2010 was held down in Bloomington right by the Mall of America last Thursday the 30th of September. I spoke in the morning on "Project Management SharePoint Style." There was great attendance for my talk along with a lot of good questions about SharePoint's Project Management abilities. I included demos of different project sites and even some third party apps like 21Scrum.

On Saturday Oct 2nd I headed over to the University of Minnesota for SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities. Here I gave a talk on SharePoint Security in the morning and another on Business Intelligence at the end of the day. In addition to my talks, we had the High Monkey booth set up. If you were at the event I'm sure you saw the rather large High Monkey exhibit right as you walked in. Hopefully you had a chance to stop by and talk to myself, Joel, Rob or Jared at some point throughout the day. There was a great turnout despite the craziness that was Homecoming on campus that day. Other than having to park a little further away and seeing a few stumblers on my way out, it didn't seem to interfere with the event.

Thanks to everyone who put in all the time and effort to make these events successful, and thanks to everyone who came out and made these events worthwhile. As promised in my sessions, here are the slides from my talks.
