SPS Chicago

After getting to spend a few weeks at home and speaking at some local SharePoint events like Mindsurf 2010 and SharePoint Saturday (SPS) Twin Cities, I made a short trip for what was another successful SharePoint Saturday, this time in Chicago. Unlike Mindsurf and SPS Twin Cities I did have to get on a plane for this one, but I was able to avoid staying in a hotel by arriving in the morning and leaving that same evening.

While it was a short trip, it was very much worth it! SPS Chicago was very well put together and had a great attendance. I saw a lot of familiar faces and also met some new ones. I especially enjoyed getting to meet a lot of employees from the new Microsoft Store that will be opening up soon in Chicago (there will be one at the Mall of America in Minnesota opening up the same day as well). I really appreciate everyone that came out to my session on "BI for the Common people." With all of the cool BI tools out there, I thought it would be fun to take others down the journey I went on to really understand what the BI world was all about and how to leverage the new technologies in the Microsoft BI stack. I had some great questions and enjoyed the different perspectives audience members came from. Hopefully my talk gave you some direction and insights into the world of BI. As promised, here is the link to my slides.

BI For the Common People

Thanks again to everyone who dedicated their time and efforts into ensuring SPS Chicago was a success and thank you to those who supported the event with their attendance. You make it worthwhile for everyone involved.

I will be travelling for business over the next few days but if you have questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
