Talentgear Website Launches
A Kentico MVC Project by High Monkey for Personality Profile Solutions in Minneapolis Minnesota.
November 30, 2020
The Talent Gear website was designed and built by the High Monkey Team using the Kentico Software MVC development model. Originally, PPS was intending to utilize Kentico Portal but with guidance from High Monkey, the project evolved to embrace MVC development in order to provide 'forward-compatibility' and code re-use for multiple websites.
The PPS Team was pleased to find that Kentico's new page editor delivers a much improved user interface. Content widgets and Sections were improved, making them simultaneously more 'free form' while including controls in the development side that will only allow content to be added in a way that will display correctly. The PPS Team also appreciated that the new editor allows widgets to be moved to create custom page layouts without affecting site-wide templates.
A notable MVC development effort that High Monkey added to the Talent Gear website included a 'Transformable Widget' (our working name for it). This one content widget allows content and images to be displayed in five different views with a variety of columns and image placements. The home page of the Talent Gear website (www.talentgear.com) uses the same Transformable Widget for four of the five sections of content and each one has a unique look.
The Talent Gear website provides a wealth of knowledge in a 'Resources' area. High Monkey developed the Resources area of the site to include a 'category picker' to ensure that all Resources content are organized by the categories of Recruiting and Hiring, Leadership Development, Employee Retention, and Team Development. This development approach ensures that all new Resources content are validated for category assignment. The functionality to add additional tags was done programmatically using a visual picklist that emulates that function in the Kentico portal engine.
The Talent Gear website project a 12-month effort by the High Monkey and PPS Teams. Again, our congratulations to PPS on the launch of their new Talent Gear website.
