The newest version of High Monkey's website has launched. It was a lot of work and we're darn proud of it!

There is a story about the shoemaker's kids going barefoot because the shoemaker is too busy making shoes for customers. We know that story. When your business is building websites for clients, your own site sometimes lags. Not today! High Monkey is proud to announce that our shiny new website has launched.

The time and the process of getting a new website designed and built in the Kentico Xperience digital experience platform (DXP) had to be balanced within our customer workload to ensure we always give priority to our customer's projects. Fortunately, we have a solid Scrum and project management process that gives us 2-week Sprints to work with. The High Monkey Team had to juggle their client projects commitments with tasks for our own website.

Some of the unique features of the new High Monkey website include:

The site is built fully using the latest Microsoft .NET Core framework

The back-end content management system is Kentico Xperience DXP (we are a Kentico Gold Partner)

The website is inclusive - we conducted extensive accessibility testing using Lighthouse and Microsoft tools

Animations across the site were built mostly using CSS vs JavaScript. We tried to limit our JavaScript use across the site

Extensive use of Kentico's newer 'Related Content' feature to create connections between our services, projects, customer kudos and better enable a reusable content strategy

One major initiative we undertook for our new website was to serve images across our site according to Google’s performance best practices. No small undertaking! In this effort, we deployed use of tags to dynamically serve of optimized image formats and sizes, dependent on the browser screen size. To the end, we ended up with over 2,000 separate images being used for just customers and projects. We also deployed most other graphics and icons throughout the site in an optimized .SVG format. Stay tuned for a more expensive blog post discussing the steps around this process!

Also, in the very near future, we will be adding Squiz Funnelback Search to the High Monkey website. We have been a Funnelback partner for several years.

We encourage you to explore our new website. Feedback is always welcome!
